When and where did you begin this sport? He wanted to start horse riding at age seven but his mother thought that it was too dangerous. He eventually began riding at age 10 and at the same time he met Danish dressage rider Morten Thomsen, who had just returned from the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Andersen went on to start working at Thomsen's stable, where he was also mentored by the Olympian.

Other information ANTI-BULLYING He revealed that he was bullied at school because of his interest in horses. He took part in an initiative in Denmark in 2022 called Boys in Equestrian Sport which helps youngsters to bond with others who share the same interest. (fei.org, 17 Mar 2022) STABLES In May 2020 he left Blue Hors and set up the Kleppenhus stables with his wife Tiril Anerud near Aarhus, Denmark. In early 2022 he announced that he was moving to Agnete Kirk Thinggaard's Julianelyst yard in Ostbirk, Denmark. He later bought Anette Ejlersgaard's farm in 2024. (eurodressage.com, 27 May 2024) WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE In May 2022 his horse co-owners Andreas Helgstrand and Christian Vang Lauridsen announced the sale of his ride for the 2022 World Championships, Marshall Bell, to Nicola Ahorner. A month later he was invited by the Ahorner family to help with Marshall Bell's training and the start-up in new surroundings, which then led to an agreement to lend Marshall Bell for his world championships campaign. He and Marshall Bell went on to compete at the 2022 World Championships in Herning, Denmark, and won gold in the team event. "As we approached the world championships, it became very clear that the owners wanted to sell [Marshall Bell]. I wanted to help [the Ahorner family]. It was a really good trip and they were super sweet people, but I didn't even think about getting Marshall Bell back." He had previously completed an internship at the facility in 2006. Between 2012 and 2014, he was employed by fellow Danish rider Andreas Helgstrand as a horse trainer, and prior to that he had worked with Rudolf Zeilinger in Germany for six years.
