BASED IN BELGIUM
In 2015 she moved to the Netherlands to train with equestrian couple Edwina Tops-Alexander and her husband Jan Tops. Three years later she relocated to Belgium, and she also spends the northern hemisphere winters riding in Wellington, FL, United States of America. "In Europe, there are endless options for competitions. Each weekend you have many national shows, two-star, three-star, four-star, and five-star. The options seem endless, and it's really helpful to pick the right competitions for each horse; it's amazing sport here. But I always come for [the winter circuit in] Wellington." OLYMPIC DEBUT
She was an alternate at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and did not qualify for the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Debuting at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, she won silver alongside McLain Ward and Laura Kraut in the team event. "I've admired these riders throughout my career so to be named to the team with them has been such a huge honour and they have so much experience. They all have medals at the Games. Throughout my career, representing my country has been my goal, and so to be doing so at the Olympics, it's a huge honour." FIGHTING SHYNESS
She credits horses for helping her combat her shyness as a child. "Around my family I was open and funny and loud, but I was awkward and introverted with other people for a long time. I had a few girlfriends who brought me out of my shell. Riding helped me gain confidence, because when you work hard at something and see the results it makes you feel good about yourself. And caring for an animal at such a young age gives you responsibility. It teaches you patience and understanding." (dailymail.co.uk, 11 Oct 2015)
FAMOUS FATHER
She is the daughter of US singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. "We had a really grounded upbringing and it was nice that I always had riding to focus on and have something a little bit for myself. I think that really helped me grow and become who I am today. It taught me to work hard and dedicate myself to something. He finds watching me ride really relaxing, I don't think he gets as nervous as my mother but they both really love to come. I'm happy that they love it as much as I do." CHARITY WORK
She has worked with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals [ASPCA], as well as the EQUUS Foundation in the United States of America. "I think the most important thing is raising awareness. A lot of people don't really know how much animal cruelty there is, especially with horses. It's so sad."
