Sporting philosophy / motto |
"There is no time limit [in horse training]. If you make sure that you keep the work fun for the horses and give them time, then they can often do much more than what you initially expected. But as a rider you play a major role in ensuring that the work remains fun. If you keep practising everything that your horse finds difficult, then he will also dislike the work at some point. That is why I train at least the things that he likes and occasionally I pick up some more difficult exercises. It is often much easier, and then you keep a happy horse that also wants to work for you." (dressuur.nl, 14 Dec 2019) |

COMPETITION FOCUS
She has put on hold gaining further coaching qualifications to focus on competing. "My ambitions are really more based in competition as a rider myself. I like coaching work, it's nice to help people. I completed my qualifications and that's basically it. I am not working on my level four or five coaching diplomas. I've thought about it, I can give enough in lessons and I wouldn't be able to take on more clients at the moment [speaking in 2021]. My ambition is mainly to ride myself." (horses.nl, 15 Sep 2021) |
