FROM BRAZIL TO EUROPE
He moved to Europe at age 18 after agreeing with his parents that he could travel for a year before university. However, he chose not to return to Brazil and stayed in Europe to pursue equestrian. In 2017 he relocated from Ittre, Belgium, to Barcelona, Spain. "In early 1996, when I was 14 and thanks to my parents' never-ending support, I went to Europe to see the stables of a good friend and professional rider, Felipe de Azevedo. It was then, seeing the best horse riders competing, that I realised I also wanted to work in the sport." In 2020 he was named jumping riders' representative on the athletes' committee of the International Equestrian Federation [FEI]. He has also served as a member of the FEI's jumping committee.
