When and where did you begin this sport? She took part in her first competition at age six.
Why this sport? "I was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by horses on our family farm, where my parents have been producing top showjumpers for decades. I got my first pony, Smokey, before I was even born."

Injuries She broke her foot in November 2017 at the Ocala Jockey Club International Three-Day Event in the United States of America. She returned to competition in January 2018. Other information COMBINING DISCIPLINES She switched disciplines to eventing after representing the US equestrian jumping team from 1999 to 2011. "I became interested in eventing while watching the 2010 World Equestrian Games [WEG] on television. I thought, 'I would like to do that, it looks like a lot of fun', so I pulled a horse out of the barn and it has gone from there. I did my first four-star event in 2012." Milestones In 1996 at age 14 she became the youngest competitor to have claimed victory at the US Junior Amateur Championship. She won the event again the following year, which made her the youngest woman to have secured consecutive US Junior Amateur Championships. At age 18 she won the United States Equestrian Team's Talent Derby for the third time, having already become the first female equestrian to have won the event on more than one occasion.
