Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport? He was the only member of his family who was interested in the sport and began riding at age 10 in Dinant, Belgium. He got his first pony at age 12 and received his first horse two years later.
Why this sport? "My nanny was a rider. When I was eight, she babysat me every Wednesday. She took me with her to an equestrian centre. From that moment, I wanted to learn about this sport. But you had to be 10 years old to start. So I waited, and finally started on my 10th birthday, my first riding lesson was my birthday gift. With horses, a true relationship is created. They are incredibly perceptive animals and when I enter the stables, my horse knows it is me. That's what is so magnificent about this sport."
