Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport? She began riding at age five at her parents' farm in Tottenham, ON, Canada.
Why this sport? Her family were involved in the sport and she grew up on a farm around horses and ponies. "I was lucky enough to be born into a family of horses. It was my grandpa's passion, he was captain of the Canadian team for 10 years in the 1940s and early 1950s. It became my dad's business, he was a rider first then a course designer and then it became my passion and my career."

Sporting philosophy / motto "It's such a hard life and if you don't love it, that makes it harder. It takes hard work and dedication no matter what ring you show in. And no matter what, make sure you love, love, love your horses!" (sidelinesmagazine.com, 11 Oct 2022)

Other information STABLES She and her parents run Looking Back Farm in Tottenham, ON, Canada. She also began riding for Israeli trainer Ilan Ferder in 2018. "Working with Ilan and his horses has really given me a huge opportunity and a chance to be seen all over the world. I am a full-time show rider for Ilan and have a business of more than 30 horses in Ontario still. It doesn't leave much time for anything extra." (Instagram team profile, 28 Apr 2023; jumpernews.com, 23 Apr 2021; horseandhound.co.uk, 11 Jan 2021; fei.org, 08 Nov 2019; noellefloyd.com, 15 Jun 2018; lookingbackfarm.com, 05 Mar 2016) BAD INJURY She broke her collarbone and suffered nerve damage in her shoulder after a fall in May 2013. "With that injury, I didn't ride for four months, and it just made me want everything more. It put my dreams into perspective and made me fight harder to achieve them. Maybe I made different decisions afterwards, like coming to work for Ilan [Ferder] full-time, because you learn that opportunity doesn't exist like this every day, and injuries can happen, and your lifestyle can change. If you have something that you'll regret not doing, then you better try to find a way to do it before you can't." (sidelinesmagazine.com, 11 Oct 2022; chronofhorse.com, 26 Jul 2022)
